Fort Morgan Humane Society provides support to our surrounding community through education, services that strengthen the human-pet bond, and humane care for the animals we serve. We believe that animals are an integral part of the family, and research shows that the family and their pets benefit when animals can stay with or be reunited with their owners after a traumatic experience.

The adoption process typically involves these steps:
  1. Research: Research and decide on the type of pet that suits your lifestyle and needs.
  2. Find a Shelter: 900 Railroad Ave, Fort Morgan, CO 80701
  3. Visit the Shelter: Visit the shelter or rescue facility to meet the available pets and find a suitable match.
  4. Meet the Pet: Spend time with the pet you're interested in to see if there's a good connection.
  5. DOGS- require a second visit  only if you have another dog. To check compatibility.
  6. Complete an Application: Fill out an adoption application provided by the shelter.
  7. Adoption Fee: Pay the adoption fee, which often covers vaccinations and other medical expenses.
  8. Adoption Agreement: Sign an adoption contract agreeing to provide proper care for the pet.
  9. Take Your Pet Home: Once approved, take your new pet home and begin the adjustment period.
  10. Follow-up: Some shelters may follow up with you to ensure the pet is settling in well.
Remember that the adoption process can vary from one organization to another, and it's essential to be patient and thorough to ensure a successful adoption.

STEINER SILS AFFORDABLE VET CARE
We focus on affordable veterinary medical care, general surgery, basic dentals (with x-ray), and high volume/ low cost spay & neuter. In addition to being open to the public, we support most of the animal rescues and humane societies in the area. We have a very close-knit staff and our office is very fast paced but the staff is experienced and ready to help our new DVM ‘hit the ground running’. We can keep a good array of prescription medications on sight, have digital dental x-rays, ultrasound machines, and have in-house HESKA lab equipment. Being a low-cost facility, we are able to help many people in the community who normally cannot afford vet care, which has been very rewarding for our staff.
